Hip and Knee Replacement
Complementary support during your recovery
Recovering from a hip or knee replacement takes time, patience and carefully managed rehabilitation. Our friendly team provides a welcoming place where you can explore oxygen therapy and complementary support alongside the recovery plan provided by your surgeon and physiotherapist.
BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY
Support alongside your rehabilitation
Every recovery from joint replacement is different. Pain, swelling, mobility and energy levels can vary considerably, and progress may not always follow a straight line. Our approach begins with understanding where you are in your recovery and the guidance provided by your medical team.
Oxygen therapy takes place inside one of our hyperbaric chambers, where oxygen is breathed through a mask while the chamber is gradually pressurised. Research is exploring its potential role in different areas of post-operative recovery, but it is not an established routine treatment following an uncomplicated hip or knee replacement.
Oxygen therapy does not replace physiotherapy, prescribed exercises, pain relief, blood-thinning medication, wound care or follow-up appointments. You should obtain approval from your surgeon, physiotherapist or GP before arranging oxygen therapy following an operation.
New or worsening pain, significant swelling, wound redness or discharge, fever, chest pain or unexplained breathlessness requires prompt medical attention. These symptoms should be assessed by a healthcare professional rather than treated through complementary therapy.
Our team will explain what a session involves, consider your mobility and individual health needs, and help you decide whether oxygen therapy or one of our complementary services is appropriate and manageable during your recovery.
